EAA TEXAS FLY-IN CLOSES WITH INSPIRING MESSAGE |
|
SWRFI
Hondo, Texas
June 3, 2007
Apollo 13 Mission Director Gene Kranz spoke at the
closing banquet Saturday night in Hondo, Texas. This
national treasure related the events of the
ill-fated mission from the man at the center of the
action. The fly-in attendees listened with rapt
attention and heard not only the story of the
mission that was immortalized in the recent motion
picture of the same name, but learned of the
attitude and integrity that the early space pioneers
adhered to.
750 aircraft visited the major southwest aviation
event and 6500 people walked through the gates.
Exhibitors offered something for every aviation
enthusiast and the variety of homebuilt, classic and
Warbirds were a sight to behold.
Next years fly in will be in mid-October or early
November, so check
www.swrfi.org for updates.
